MOOKIE!

This post is way over due, but here goes anyway.

My buddy Goat told be about the BBT and all the goodness that goes with it. I finally found some time to join him for a game, my first blogger tourney ever. I spent the first couple of hours staying at roughly the avg stack size, nothing extraordinary happened. I saw some great cards, but couldn't get involved in a big pot. Most notably I managed to double up a few times when I needed to most, I sucessfully dodged a pair of bullets when I folded pre-flop in a pot that I contemplated getting into because my stack was hurting and my cards were decent. It appears that I played fairly well, because after 2.5 hours, I'm told that I'm in the money and sitting on a reasonable stack. Woohoo! An hour later we're at the final table and I'm in 7th place. Goat calls me a lucksack, call it what you will, but I'm at the FINAL TABLE.

To this point I hadn't managed to collect a bounty AT ALL! Then I got lucky against Waffles. It was the right move by both of us, he gives a much better break down of the hand than I could, so read his post. Here's how the hand ended up though.

Waffles was great and didn't berate me much for the hand.

My run ended when I limped, yes limped into a 3-way pot with A9. The flop couldn't have been prettier. I raised 1/2 pot to be called by PirateLawyer and a fold by TuscaloosaJohn. The turn was even better, pairing my Aces I raised another 1/2 to be pushed back by PL. I raised all in to be happily called (as you can see below).

So, per the advice given by Shrike...

"I will not go broke in a limped pot."
"I will not go broke in a limped pot."

Thanks Mookie for putting this tourney on. I certainly plan to play again!
